The Flying Welshman

David Green with his Fiat Freedom and his carer

30/05/2005

After seeing an advertisement in the Sunday papers, David Green, from Gloucester, called Eileen at Allied Vehicles - and soon struck up a firm friendship.

"Eileen's on my Christmas card list now!" declares David. "She was absolutely brilliant. I found her very helpful and jolly. She had answers to all my questions no problem at all. She gave me all the info I needed."

Eileen arranged for Simon, one of Allied Vehicles' Mobility Advisers, to visit David at home and demonstrate the car he was interested in - a wheelchair accessible Fiat Freedom. "Simon was really helpful too," says David.  "He took me for a drive and showed me how everything works."

A member of the MS Society David goes to the Sue Ryder hospice periodically for respite. "My car arrived for me at my home while I was at the hospice. I was really looking forward to seeing it. I'm so impressed."

David continued: "My wife and I live at the foot of the Cotswolds and we love to travel there. It's great when my brother or son come to visit as they're both insured to drive my new Freedom so my wife and I can go out with them for day trips. I hadn't been able to do that since I stopped driving so it's given me my freedom back."

"The Freedom is a very spacious vehicle. It's been absolutely designed for me, well it feels like it has anyway! There's plenty of room for my Power Chair. I call myself 'the Flying Welshman' now!" said David.

The Fiat Freedom has helped David to get out and about more and visit the places he loves with his family. More information on the Fiat Freedom can be found here.
