Now Jack goes too!

Room for all the Family..& the Dog!

12/09/2008

Like many other families that include a wheelchair user, John Hegarty and his wife Linda were struggling to find suitable transport that would accommodate everyone.

The couple, from Kinross in Scotland, went in search of a vehicle that would allow them, their grandkids and their luggage to travel together.  Unfortunately they found that the Advance Payments on many of the larger mobility cars on the market were beyond their budget – until they were introduced to a new MPV available on the Motability Scheme; the Independence Premier.

Frustration

“We found it very frustrating that we couldn’t all go out as a family," says Linda.   We have two grandkids aged 4 and 6 years old and John and I desperately wanted to take them out for fun days together".

Made by Allied Vehicles, the Independence Premier can accommodate driver, wheelchair passenger and up to five seated passengers, so it's well suited for larger families or small groups that require lots of space with maximum wheelchair accessibility.

Linda explains:  "We use the car everyday and for everything!  Just because it’s big doesn’t make it harder to drive either.  John and I love the visibility, which means we can see more of the countryside."

Getaway

Going on family trips and holidays is of great importance to Linda and John and they are extremely happy that the Independence Premier has given them the freedom to get out and about.

"In July we visited wheelchair accessible cottages near Balmoral for a fortnight.  The Independence was perfect for the journey, with our grandkids coming along and of course Jack, our collie", said Linda.
