Nine fighting fit members of Allied Mobility braved the cold for a second year running to take part in the North Glasgow 5k on the 26th April.
The Big Event
The race, which finished and ended, at Glasgow’s Ruchill Park attracted over 2600 fun runners who walked, jogged or ran there way around the course facing the bitterly cold Glasgow winds. From fighting fit professionals to running novices, the Ng5k is one of the only events of its kind where participants of all ages and levels of ability take part together.
Fun for All
Participants and spectators enjoyed pre run activities such as face painting, bouncy castle and munching free healthy fruit kebabs. The fun continued along the route where runners were entertained and motivated by jazz bands and belly dancing.
The Dream Team
David Speak, AlliedZEV’s Area Sales Manager, finished first out of Allied’s group having travelled all the way from Cheshire to take part in the event. He was followed by Marketing Executive Susan Lawler.
Susan said: “The run was a fantastic day out, even though Dave beat me to become the Allied champ! It was a great day out and everyone did really well. Roll on the next NG5k!.”
Runners were awarded with an NG5k medal, fruit, water and a well deserved treat of a Tunnocks Caramel Wafer on crossing the finishing line.
Allied hope to have an even bigger team to take part next year!
