A Special Trip this Christmas

Irene Robertson, from Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, was in search of a wheelchair accessible car after she began finding it increasingly difficult to transfer to a car seat. Now, since finding the Peugeot Horizon from Allied Mobility, Irene hasn’t looked back.

Irene explains: “I was struggling to transfer to a car seat so I really needed a more accessible vehicle. I’m delighted with the Horizon from Allied because I can now travel in my car and remain in my wheelchair.”

Easy Access

The Peugeot Horizon Origin is fully wheelchair accessible, with a lightweight folding ramp, lowered floor and electric winch for ease of entry.

Irene explains: “The electric winch works really well when I use my wheelchair. It’s the best!”

Built with safety in mind, the Horizon Origin comes with specialist features including a four-point wheelchair restraint system and a wheelchair passenger full lap and diagonal seatbelt, offering optimum security. Irene commented:  “I find the seatbelts and wheelchair restraint system very easy to use and I always feel secure when travelling,” Icontinues Irene.

Taking Trips

Irene has been enjoying trips to the shops and longer trips too: “I’ve been able to pop out to the shops when I like and with no worry at all. I’ve also recently travelled to Glasgow and Balmoral with my husband Stewart, where we stayed for a week in a lovely accessible holiday resort.”

Coming into the Christmas period Irene is also looking forward to spending time with her family. She said: “My son, Alistair, lives in London with his wife and daughter, so I don’t get to see them often. This we have decided to spend Christmas week there.”

Christmas with the Family

Having a wheelchair accessible vehicle has made a real change to Irene’s life. Irene comments: “My new car has been such a help. I can now travel along with my family in my car when they come to visit and I’ve been able to take trips which I couldn’t do before. Thanks to my new car, Christmas is really going to be special this year.”
