Happy 2,000th Horizon WAV Customer

30/01/2010

Tony Clifford, from Hayle in Cumbria, was pleasantly surprised to learn he had become the 2,000th customer in the UK to take delivery of a Peugeot Horizon WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle) from Allied Mobility

Tony, who uses an electric wheelchair, suffered from a stroke which affected his mobility and left him with the use of only one hand.  The need to transport his electric scooter led him and his wife, Valerie, to search for a wheelchair car and Allied Mobility seemed a great place to start their search.

Winning Choice

Tony comments: “We went to see lots of different cars, large and small but when we saw the Peugeot Horizon Origin with its wheelchair ramp and electric winch, we knew it would be the most practical solution for us and the low price suited us down to the ground."

“We were delighted to find out that we were the 2,000th customer to get a Horizon from Allied," continues Tony.  "The company is doing a fantastic job in supplying such a wide range of wheelchair accessible vehicles.  They really do provide a great choice for wheelchair and scooter users."

Allied’s Horizon has proved the most popular wheelchair accessible car in the UK on the Motability Scheme and is also available to buy or for hire.  The Horizon Origin also has the lowest Advance Payment of any WAV on the Scheme, at just £395 and offers fantastic access with lightweight folding rear ramp and electric winch.  It’s no wonder sales of the Horizon are continuing to rise and helping wheelchair users throughout the UK get out on the open road.

Scooter-Friendly

Tony and Valerie took delivery of their Peugeot Horizon Origin in October last year and have enjoyed taking trips together without the hassle of loading Tony’s electric scooter or his electric wheelchair into a standard car.

Tony says: ”Our wheelchair car is just so easy to use.  I can load my electric wheelchair safely into the car and I can get into the passenger seat or I can travel sitting in me wheelchair - I suit myself.  There's also room for lots of our shopping in the back of the car, even with my wheelchair in the back.

“Val and I particularly like to take trips to the West coast of Cornwall in our WAV.  We love visiting the beach, although unfortunately it’s not the right weather for the beach just now!  We’re actually snowed in at the moment and I can’t get out to the leisure centre to go swimming or to the gym to exercise, which helps my movement.”

Great Service

Tony and Valerie are also delighted with the service from Allied Mobility, Tony concludes: “Allied made everything so easy, the only difficulty was choosing from their wide range of vehicles but we're delighted with the choice we made.”
