Getting out and about has just got a lot easier for wheelchair user Charles McNaught from Ayrshire in Scotland, after discovering the Peugeot Horizon Origin disability car.
Whilst searching for a mobility car, Charles and his wife Helen came across Allied Mobility, the UK’s leading manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vehicles and decided the Horizon was just the WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle) they needed.
Travelling in Comfort
The Horizon Origin offers low-floor wheelchair passenger access and hassle free travelling, enabling wheelchair users to travel whilst remaining in their wheelchair. Scooter users also find the Horizon WAV ideal for transporting their scooter, while they transfer to the car's passenger seating.
With accessible features including a one-piece folding rear ramp, high quality wheelchair restraint system and three point wheelchair passenger seatbelt, the Horizon offers wheelchair passengers complete safety and security, together with a comfortable ride, as they travel seated in their chair.
The Horizon Origin disability car is available to buy, rent or through Motability and has the lowest advance payment of any wheelchair accessible vehicle on the Motability scheme.
Charles explains: “The car is really accessible. I use an electric chair and it’s really quick and easy to drive up the ramp and in no time I’m ready to go. It’s also very comfortable inside and I always feel secure.”
Improved Mobility
Like many individuals who struggle with mobility, Charles has found a great improvement to his life since opting for a wheelchair accessible car of his own.
He comments: “I really have seen a difference in my daily life. Having the car has made me more mobile so now I can pop out and go wherever I like.”
As well as everyday local journeys, Charles has also been able to take longer family trips in his wheelchair car: “I've been on a few trips up to Loch Lomond with my wife Helen, daughter Linda-Ann and grandson Robbie," says Charles.
"The scenery was beautiful and it was nice to spend time with the family. We all had a great time.”
Top Service
Charles was very happy with the service he received from Allied Mobility: “When Neil, from Allied, came out to demonstrate the Horizon to me, he took his time showing me how to use different accessible features and he was very thorough, answering all the questions I had. I was very pleased.”
“This is my first time dealing with Allied Mobility and they have been very kind and considerate. They contact me every now and then to see how I’m getting with my WAV. Overall, it’s been a top service from Allied.”
