Wheelchair Voucher Winner Wins 500 pounds

12/03/2010

This winter, Allied Mobility decided to give something back in a fun way by running a prize draw offering customers the chance to win a £500 voucher towards the cost of a new wheelchair.

Grand Prize Draw

Allied Mobility is the UK’s leading supplier of wheelchair accessible vehicles an has WAV customers the length and breadth of the UK.

Their prize draw had a great response with over 600 customers returning entry cards and the lucky winner was… Charles Stephens from Cornwall!

Charles was delighted to hear that his name was on the winning card: “I can’t believe that I am the winner!  I feel on top of the world!  A new wheelchair will really make a big difference to me and help me get out and about more.”

Horizon’s the Best

Charles lives with his wife, Elva, in the historic market town of Helston, in the far south-west corner of the UK.

Over a year ago, Charles took delivery of a Peugeot Horizon Origin from Allied Mobility, and hasn’t looked back. “I am still very happy with my Horizon, it was definitely the best choice.  Having my own wheelchair accessible car has been a great help to me and I just couldn’t do without it now.” Charles explains.

The Peugeot Horizon Origin is available exclusively from Allied Mobility and is available to rent, buy or through the Motability Scheme.  With an Advance Payment of only £395, the Horizon comes with user-friendly accessible features including a lightweight folding wheelchair ramp and electric winch, to aid entry and exit.

Making a Real Difference

Charles and Elva make great use of their Horizon Origin.  Charles comments: “Elva and I pop out when we like and it’s always so quick and easy.  We live 10 miles from the nearest town so having the Horizon has made life much easier for us.  Regular trips to doctors appointments and the supermarket for the weekly shopping are not a problem.”

The couple have found the rear wheelchair ramp and electric winch really easy to use.  “The ramp is excellent and our daughter Carol, who drives the car, finds the electric winch a great help," says Charles.

Charles always likes to keep himself busy, adding: “I really enjoy DIY and like to go to DIY stores to pick up odds and ends, so having my wheelchair car lets me keep doing the things that I enjoy.”

A Brilliant Service

Charles is not only delighted about winning the prize draw but  is also very happy with the service he has received from Allied over the past year. “My mobility advisor, John, was very helpful and explained how to use the Horizon when he came to demonstrate it to me.  He always had time to speak to me.  I have to say, the service from Allied was brilliant.”
