The Peugeot Horizon mobility car now comes with low-gradient wheelchair ramp and free electric winch

Getting More with Allied Mobility

02/09/2010

There’s good news for disabled travellers this month as the hugely popular Peugeot Horizon mobility car gets even more accessible.

In addition to its unique, low-gradient FlexiFold™ ramp the Horizon, from Allied Mobility, is now the only Peugeot Partner conversion on the Motability Scheme to offer an electric assist-winch free of charge.

Easy Wheelchair Access

Already providing superb accessibility, the Horizon already includes a lowered floor and low ramp gradient, making wheelchair entry a breeze.

Unique to the Horizon, the versatile FlexiFold™ wheelchair ramp can also fold completely flat to the vehicle floor, creating valuable space for shopping trips and other bulky items.  Easy to use, this stow-away wheelchair ramp is only found in Allied’s wheelchair accessible vehicles, including the Peugeot Horizon mobility car and Volkswagen Vista mobility people carrier.  The cleverly-designed ramp also means you need less space between other parked vehicles to fold out the wheelchair ramp.

Available to buy, rent or through the Motability Scheme, the Horizon provides everything you need in a wheelchair car at an affordable price, with Advance Payments now from only £395.

Electric Wheelchair Winch

Already the most popular mobility car available on the Motability Scheme, the Horizon is now available from Allied Mobility with an electric winch at no extra cost, if required.  The remote controlled electric winch simply hooks onto the front of the wheelchair and assists you as you push the wheelchair passenger into and out of the mobility car - a helpful additional aid for those in need of extra assistance.

Full Passenger Seating

Based on the comfortable Peugeot Partner, Allied Mobility's Horizon mobility car accommodates driver, wheelchair passenger and up to two seated passengers or driver and up to four seated passengers.  Whereas some conversions come with no rear seats at all, all five original Peugeot passenger seats come as standard on the Horizon, giving you full use of the original car seats when the wheelchair space is not in use.

For wheelchair access, two rear passenger seats fold quickly away to provide the wheelchair passenger space, leaving one rear seat free for an able-bodied passenger to accompany the wheelchair occupant throughout their journey.

Allied Mobility Sales Director, Peter Facenna, comments: “We are continually looking for access solutions to make travel hassle free and enjoyable for our customers.

“Since its launch, our Peugeot Horizon has become the most popular mobility car on the Motability Scheme.  With its great accessibility features proving a big hit we’re now delighted to offer even more, with the addition of a remote controlled electric winch, provided as standard if required.”

Peter continues: “Although there will be lots of customers who will not need to use a winch, for carers and families who would like a little extra assistance with entry and exit, an electric winch will be a welcome help.”
