For many families, having a child with a disability can mean entering a whole new world with lots to learn about medical support, benefits, living aids and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
Kidz up North is a specialist one day event, held each year in Bolton’s Reebok Stadium which brings together a range of companies that provide specialist products and services for families with disabled kids. For many it’s a good starting point in their quest for knowledge.
Allied Mobility was delighted to once again attend this popular event to showcase its wheelchair accessible vehicles to the visitors. In its 12th year, 2011’s Kidz up North event was bigger than ever with a dedicated Car Zone. One show were vehicles including Allied Mobility’s Peugeot Horizon and Peugeot Independence, the two best selling wheelchair accessible vehicles on the Motability Scheme.
Allied Mobility’s marketing manager, Joanne McPeake, commented: “Kidz up North is a great opportunity for families to see a wide range of products and services they wouldn’t otherwise be able to find under one roof. Families often don’t know where to start in finding the right accessible vehicle so it was great that we got to show our cars off to so many families in one day.”
Alongside charities, funding organisations, furniture, wheelchairs and a host of other mobility products, visitors to the show had the chance to meet and greet the Bolton Wanderers team to have pictures taken. Organisers Disabled Living were delighted with the turn out for the Bolton event, which is one of three events held in different parts of the country. This year's Kidz up North attracted more than 2,500 visitors.
