Motability

What is Motability?

Motability is a non-for-profit organisation which helps people with disabilities get a vehicle that is suitable for their needs.

Can I obtain a wheelchair accessible vehicle through the Motability Scheme?

Yes. If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component (HRMC) of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS) and you have 12 months award length remaining, then you are eligible for the Motability Scheme. All of the mobility cars and MPVs supplied by Allied Mobility are available through the Motability Scheme.

Part or all of your allowance can be paid to Motability in return for a wheelchair accessible vehicle on a five-year contract hire lease. Contact us FREE today on 0800 916 3093 to discuss your options and for expert advice on the Scheme.

What is an Advance Payment?

If the cost of the accessible vehicle you chose from us is higher than your full allowance can cover, then there will be a charge for the difference in this cost that you will be required to pay at the beginning of your Motability agreement. This cost is an Advance Payment and will vary depending on the wheelchair accessible vehicle you have chosen. You may be eligible for a grant from Motability towards the cost of your Advance Payment.

What do I do if I'm not eligible for the Motability Scheme?

Don't worry; we can still help you get the vehicle you need. All of our vehicles are also available to buy outright or we can help you finance your vehicle at competitive interest rates.
