Allied Mobility sponsors the Kinross Wheelchair International Curling (KWIC) competition

The Wheelchair International Curling (KWIC) competitions took place in Kinross, Scotland late last year with ten teams competing from Canada, Norway, Switzerland, Wales, England and Scotland to win the title for wheelchair curling. All teams performed fantastically during the games with two teams from Canada going head to head in the final.

Ena Stevenson, chairman of the (KWIC) committee, commented on the event.  “The competition started off with a welcome reception hosted by Perth and Kinross Council, the games were all played with great sportsmanship and a pleasure to watch, with some lovely shots being played.”

The Vancouver team took the title with the Great British team (pictured) coming fourth.  Although beaten by their Canadian friends the GB team will be going to Vancouver next month for the Wheelchair Curling World Championships.  The team has also been selected to represent Britain in the 2010 Winter Paralympics. Allied Mobility sponsored the international wheelchair event providing vital funds that went towards strips and programmes for the games.

“It was thanks to Allied Mobility as a sponsor that we were able to help make our competition hopefully one of the best in the world wheelchair curling circuit,” commented Ena.
