2,000 up and Still Going Strong
Britain’s best selling wheelchair accessible car – Allied Mobility’s Peugeot Horizon - has reached a whopping 2,000 sales.
Perfect Match
Reflecting on the unprecedented success of the Horizon over the past three years Allied Mobility’s Peter Facenna recalls: “Our research showed that there was a real need for a comfortable, family-sized wheelchair car that was easy to drive and park yet roomy enough to accommodate most sizes of chair."
“We explored various potential vehicles and found that the Peugeot Partner fitted the bill perfectly.
“We adapt the Partner to create our Horizon WAV by putting in a new, lowered floor, which makes it easy for wheelchair users to get in and out and provides extra head-room for the journey.”
Peter continues: “Another important feature of the Allied Mobility conversion is that we retain the three original rear seats. The double seat folds forward so that when a wheelchair user is in the car a relative, friend or carer can still use the third original rear seat. All three rear seats can also be used as normal when the wheelchair user isn’t in the car.”
More Choice
Allied already offers a choice of diesel or petrol versions on the Horizon. However, now there’s a completely new model to choose from as well.
Even roomier than it’s predecessor, the new model Peugeot Horizon builds on Peugeot’s latest technological advances to give a highly practical and flexible wheelchair accessible car. Allied’s conversion also features a highly innovative new ramp design. The exclusive new FlexiFold™ ramp allows for easy wheelchair access to the vehicle and can also fold entirely flat to the vehicle floor when not in use, offering great luggage space.
So the new model Horizon looks well set to emulate the success of its highly popular predecessor. But even better news for wheelchair users is that the original model Horizon still lives on!
Peter Facenna explains: “The new Horizon is a fabulous vehicle but even so, there are still so many people who just love the original model. So we talked to Peugeot and decided to keep the original – now known as the ‘Horizon Origin’ – as well.”
With a superb track record and the lowest Advance Payment available for any WAV on the Motability Scheme, it’s little wonder that the Allied’s Horizon Origin continues to fit the bill perfectly for many wheelchair users.
Which Will You Choose?
So Peter – which Horizon is your favourite, we wonder?
“Now, there’s a question I really can’t answer!” confesses Peter. "It’s all about choice and our customers will decide for themselves which they prefer."
“Only time will tell which will be the more popular of the two. Some of our customers have a strong liking for the Horizon Origin, others are snapping up our new Horizon. The great thing is that people have the choice of two fantastic models, tailored to their needs and – crucially - both at an affordable Advance Payment.”
