Independence Makes Its Mark

Designed to accommodate up to 9 seated passengers the custom-built Independence is comfortable and convenient. The superb range of equipment includes an exclusive 2.0 HDi 16V engine, wheelchair access with lightweight ramp, driver's airbag, passenger side step and versatile seating arrangements.

"The essence of the Independence has to be its versatility" says Allied Vehicles Managing Director, Gavin Gillies.

"Flexible seating arrangements mean that the wheelchair passenger can travel in their wheelchair which is safely secured to the tracking on the floor of the Independence by a sophisticated wheelchair restraint system. The Independence Twin option means two wheelchair passengers can travel together in the same vehicle and also enables a wheelchair passenger to travel up-front alongside the driver.

Geoff Scott regularly goes for day trips in the Independence, arranged by his local community centre. He says "From a wheelchair passenger's point of view the Independence is a great vehicle.
