Michael Turner and his wife Sheila, from Abbeydale in Gloucester, are loving the benefits of their new accessible vehicle from Allied Mobility and just can’t stop telling people all about it!
Michael is a scooter user and was having difficulty with his old car, which didn’t afford him the access he required to get out on the open road. Sheila explains: “Our old car was a nightmare. We had to remove the seats and put the scooter in the boot, which wasn’t ideal, and when I had my appendix out we had to rely on neighbours or family members to lift the scooter. It was time for a change.”
A New Horizon
The couple noticed that Allied Mobility are accredited by Motability and supply a wide range of wheelchair accessible vehicles through the scheme. They wasted no time in getting in touch to see what they had to offer. “We called Allied up and they recommended the Peugeot Horizon with a lowered floor and ramp. Our rep was out to visit us before we knew it for a demonstration and the car was perfect for us,” said Sheila.
Life Made Easy
Michael and Sheila signed up straight away for the popular Peugeot Horizon, a specially adapted wheelchair and scooter accessible car with lowered floor and electric winch and have been enjoying their freedom ever since.
Sheila comments: “I can’t describe how easy things are with the Horizon. It’s simple to use and Michael can drive up the ramp in his scooter with ease. We don’t even need to use the winch.”
The couple started making regular trips together as soon as the car was delivered and have been enjoying their adventures in the Horizon. “We can go out into town; round all the gardens centres and we try to plan one big trip a week. The car’s also been great for keeping up with our regular hospital appointments and our weekly shop is a breeze!” adds Sheila
“We really couldn’t be happier with the service from Allied or with our lovely new Horizon. We would highly recommend Allied to anyone looking for an accessible car.
