Vehicles for people traveling in their wheelchair are ever changing \u2013 and 2019 is set to see one of the biggest and most exciting changes in many years. Here managing director Peter Facenna helps preview how Europe\u2019s best selling wheelchair accessible vehicle is undergoing a head-to-toe transformation.<\/p>\n

Top-Selling Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle <\/strong><\/h4>\n

For almost a decade now, the Peugeot Partner Horizon<\/em>, from Allied Mobility, has been far and away Europe\u2019s best selling wheelchair accessible car.\u00a0 In fact Allied, with its specialist distribution partners, has now sold a staggering eight thousand of these spacious and practical wheelchair accessible vehicles.<\/p>\n

Allied Mobility\u2019s managing director, Peter Facenna, commented: \u201cIt\u2019s really quite amazing to think that there\u2019s so many people, families and companies out there driving our Horizon <\/em>wheelchair access conversions.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course it\u2019s hugely rewarding to know that every day, literally thousands or wheelchair users are able to get out and about more thanks to having their own wheelchair accessible vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Always Learning <\/strong><\/h4>\n

All things must change, of course and Allied Mobility is now working closely with PSA Peugeot-Citroen to create the next generation of the record-breaking wheelchair accessible vehicle.<\/p>\n

Peter continues: \u201cWith so many wheelchair users out there using this wheelchair car conversion,<\/em> in so many different circumstances and indeed countries, our engineering design team has a wealth of practical, user-experience to draw on when it comes to developing an even better Horizon <\/em><\/a>to take us into 2019 and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis key project has been our top engineering priority over the past year and everyone at Allied Mobility is super excited that we\u2019re nearly ready to launch the next phase of the Horizon <\/em>story.\u201d<\/p>\n

New Horizon Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles<\/strong><\/h4>\n

When it came to planning this major transformation, Allied Mobility has been very fortunate in being able to work hand-in-hand with top engineers at PSA Peugeot-Citroen.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had an excellent working relationship with the PSA group for 20 years now\u201d, explains Peter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe knew that our Peugeot Partner conversion, which had become so popular with wheelchair users and carers, would be a hard act to follow but PSA\u2019s all-new Peugeot Rifter is simply the perfect starting point for the task.<\/p>\n

\u201cTaking over from Partner in Peugeot\u2019s model line-up, new Rifter represents a huge leap forward in terms of technology, economy and modern \u00a0good looks.\u00a0 Just as importantly, it continues the tradition of spacious interior dimensions, which are so crucial for creating space and comfort for the wheelchair user.\u201d<\/p>\n

Optimum Accessibility<\/strong><\/h4>\n

So the story continues and wheelchair users and wheelchair accessible vehicle providers will soon have the fabulous new Peugeot Rifter available to them, complete with Allied Mobility\u2019s latest and greatest wheelchair accessible transformation.<\/p>\n

In terms of wheelchair accessible features, the all new Peugeot Rifter Horizon<\/em> will feature an updated version of the brilliantly user-friendly EasyGlide <\/em>access ramp.\u00a0 Unique to Allied Mobility, this innovative wheelchair ramp simple pulls out from the vehicle floor to create a low-angle pathway into the car.<\/p>\n
