Paul and Pauline Buckley, from Dagenham, Essex, are finding life much easier thanks to the easy accessibility of their new WAV. Sporting a specially lowered floor and access ramp, the new Fiat Freedom Compact is proving the perfect wheelchair accessible vehicle for the couple, who love being able to get out and about more.
Life’s a Breeze
Paul explains: “We are getting on really well with our new Freedom. The low floor ramp is excellent. It makes it very easy to get in and out of the vehicle and has given us a new lease of life.”
Available exclusively from Allied Mobility, the Fiat Freedom Compact, based on the Fiat Doblo, is specially designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Optimum safety and accessibility is provided for wheelchair passengers with the wheelchair restraint system, wheelchair lap and diagonal seat belt and rear light-weight folding ramp.
The couple say their lives have changed for the better since they took delivery of their new Compact. Paul says: “As we’re both wheelchair users our daily lives have changed tremendously. Pauline uses an electric wheelchair and the low floor is perfect for her because it allows her to scoot in and out of the car with great ease. Because it’s quick and easy we find that we use it much more that any other car we’ve had.”
Full Peace of Mind
Wheelchair users can have peace of mind that they will be safe and secure on their journey with the Freedoms high quality restraint system, tested to Motability standards. Paul explains: “My dad, Tim, has been driving the car and really likes the restraint system because it helps him keep my wheelchair nice and secure.”
Pauline says: “I always feel secure with the wheelchair restraint system in place. The Freedom Compact is just perfect for wheelchair entry. The time it takes me to get in and out is nothing compared to other wheelchair vehicles I’ve had so we get out and about quicker than ever before!”
Enjoying the Comfort
The low cost, highly versatile Freedom not only provides great comfort for the passengers but the driver benefits too. Paul explains: “My dad’s commented on its great driveability. As well as regular trips to shopping centres and grocery stores we’ve taken longer journeys to visit family and friends and he really enjoys the drive as do we!”
Paul continues: “I now have a new personal assistant, Jolene, who also drives our Freedom. Jolene is with us most days so we’re able to go on lots of trips. It’s great to know that we can go on a lovely journey without too much forward planning – it’s a great feeling of independence. We can just wake up in the morning and decide to take a trip to the beach on a beautiful sunny day!”
“Being a keen photographer I love to get out and about to take photos of striking scenery. With our new Freedom it’s no hassle to take trips to national parks and beaches to take great shots on location.”
