Passenger or Driver?
Depending on your needs, there are four different types of WAVs to choose from. Rear passenger, upfront passenger, wheelchair driving and internal transfer.
Your Wheelchair Size
It’s important to consider the length, width and height of the wheelchair you’ll be travelling in to ensure its size is compatible with the wheelchair ramp and internal vehicle dimensions.
Other Passengers
Think about the people you’ll frequently travel with and how many additional seats you’ll require. Some of our WAVs also come equipped with ISOFIX seating.

What is a wheelchair accessible vehicle?
Wheelchair accessible vehicles are specially converted cars that are designed to ensure wheelchair users can safely and comfortably travel in their wheelchairs as either a passenger or a driver.
What WAVs can I choose from?
We work with some of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers, including Ford, Peugeot and Volkswagen, to create our unique passenger and drive-from WAVs.
How is the vehicle converted for wheelchair access?
To convert the vehicle for wheelchair access the base floor is lowered, or the roof raised to provide additional space in the vehicle. A specialist ramp is then fitted into the rear which extends, either automatically or manually, allowing the wheelchair user to enter the vehicle in a manual or powered wheelchair.
How is the ramp stored when travelling?
Depending on the model of wheelchair accessible vehicle, the ramp can either fold at a standing 90-degree angle or fold to the vehicle floor if there is no wheelchair passenger in the car.
