We’re delighted to announce the launch of our very first Internal Transfer WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle) – Ford Dream™.
Wheelchair Driving
Some disabled drivers prefer transferring from their wheelchair or powerchair and driving from a specialised seat. With Dream’s™ one-touch automatic tailgate open and wheelchair ramp unfold, there’s no need to transfer at the side of a busy road or in poor weather. You can safely enter your vehicle and transfer inside. From there, you can secure your wheelchair or powerchair before transferring to the six-way electric and adjustable seat and manoeuvre it until you find your optimum driving or front passenger position.

We asked accessibility consultant, journalist and speaker, Emily Rose Yates, 
to join us for the day to test drive our Internal Transfer vehicle. Emily, who currently transfers from her wheelchair to a standard car, said:
“Ford Dream™ provides an experience like no other. Whilst using it, I felt a real sense of independence, autonomy and ease. From being able to open the boot and see the ramp fold out with the touch of a button, to having the opportunity to transfer from my wheelchair and onto the (extremely comfy) adjustable driver’s seat with dignity and privacy once in the vehicle, it was admittedly tough to revert back to my standard car!”
