Colchester Hosts Mobility Cars Show

Colchester, Essex was the venue for the latest Motability One Big Day events.  As usual Allied Mobility, the UK’s leading supplier of mobility cars, was on hand to highlight its range of wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Among the mobility cars on display was Allied’s Peugeot Horizon, the best selling wheelchair accessible vehicle on the Motability Cars Scheme.

Held at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, home of Colchester United football club, the Motability show gave visitors the chance to view a range of mobility products.  Companies from all over the UK gathered to display mobility aids ranging from wheelchairs and scooters to vehicle adaptations and wheelchair accessible mobility cars.

Mobility Car of the Year

Allied Mobility’s Peugeot Horizon proved a big attraction at the show, with many people enquiring about the car and trying out the wheelchair ramp and electric winch, which comes at no extra cost.  Based on the Peugeot Partner Tepee, the stylish Peugeot Horizon is the ideal mobility car and was the best-selling wheelchair accessible vehicle in the UK over the past year.

One visitor to the Allied stand, Peter Maddy, commented: “We had a demonstration of the Horizon and it’s so simple to use the wheelchair accessible features.  It’s great how the car quickly converts back to a standard vehicle when you don’t have a wheelchair passenger is in the back.  It’s a really impressive mobility car.”

One Big Day

The Motability One Big Day events are held in a variety of locations all over the UK throughout the summer.  Bringing together a range of companies, the shows give visitors the chance to find out everything they need to know about motoring and owning a mobility car on the Motability Scheme.
