Sports Wheelchair for Competition Winner

Charlotte Watson, from Totting ton, near Bury is the lucky winner of a £1,000 Freedom Voucher from Allied Mobility, thanks to a competition which ran in the recent edition ofAccess All Areas magazine.

Speaking of her win, Charlotte commented: “I’m really delighted to win this competition!  The voucher will come in very handy and we’ve now ordered a new sports wheelchair for our son, Ethan, so he can play power football.”

Wheelchair Football

Ethan, 12, who has been playing power football since the beginning of this year, currently uses a normal wheelchair when playing the sport.  Now, having a wheelchair specifically designed for playing power football will allow Ethan to play better, allowing him to move faster and more easily with the special bumper on the front making it safer.

Charlotte comments: “Ethan loves playing power football but his current wheelchair is not really suitable considering the speed and physical contact involved when playing the sport.  This prize has come at the perfect time as we can put it towards the cost of the new chair.”

Charlotte’s entry was the first card picked from the Freedom Voucher prize draw which featured in the summer edition of Access All Areas.  The voucher entitled the lucky winner to spend the money on anything to help with mobility or physical accessibility.

Allied Mobility advisor, Peter Duncan, visited Charlotte to present her with the cheque.
