wheelchair accessible vehicles iic show

Allied Mobility was delighted to be in attendance at the first ever Inclusion, Independence and Choice (IIC) show held at Manchester’s GMEX along with two wheelchair accessible vehicles; our exciting new Peugeot Horizon™ and aptly named Peugeot Independence™.

The two day show, held over the 14th and 15th of February, was a brand new event for 2014 and was conveniently located in the centre of Manchester.  Aimed at those with disabilities, mixed abilities and healthcare professionals, the show’s mission is to engage, promote and educate about inclusion, independence and choice for everyone.

Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles

Allied Mobility was proud to show off our new model Peugeot Horizon™ and popular Peugeot Independence™ wheelchair accessible vehicles.  Horizon has been revamped for 2014, with a brand new innovative EasyLift™ ramp, and increased space in the back.  The exciting new ramp is cleverly counter-balanced, which means that operating it is easier than ever; almost no effort is required to lift it or lower it to the ground.  The extra room allows larger and heavier wheelchairs to fit comfortably in the back, so you get added space without having to upgrade to a larger vehicle.

Lots of Fun

In its first year, IIC attracted over 130 exhibitors, and saw a dynamic array of visitors over the two day event.  There was something for everyone, from the interactive sensory learning zone to the Employment Matters zone to help with everything relating to work opportunities and employment.  Kids had loads of fun activities to keep them entertained in the family fun inclusive area that let them try out everything from rock climbing to cake decorating!

Local Allied Mobility consultant, Phil, says:  “It’s always great to get out and meet people at these kinds of events.  We had lots of people interested in our wheelchair accessible vehicles and have arranged plenty home demonstrations for people as a result.”

“It’s great that more and more of these kinds of events aimed at people with disabilities are appearing and we look forward to our packed events schedule in 2014!”
