Grand Plans for Grand Prize

Kim Cassidy, from Bury, was 2014’s lucky £1,000 prize winner in Allied Mobility’s annual freedom voucher competition.  Kim couldn’t quite believe her luck when she found out that she’d won, enthusing: “I thought it was a joke!  It couldn’t be better timing for us as we have a project on the go that this money is perfect for.”

Kim and her husband David have two foster children who both use a wheelchair and have struggled in the past to find a family holiday destination that can accommodate them.  They decided to take matters into their own hands and buy a holiday home in Wales that they’re working on to make accessible.

Family Holidays

Kim adds: “We’re really excited about this project; it’s going to be lovely to get away as a family to a place that everyone can enjoy.  The £1,000 freedom voucher will be used to install a hoist in the house which will be a really helpful addition to the property.”

Local mobility advisor, Phil, presented Kim with her cheque after she entered Allied Mobility’s prize draw at the Kidz Event in Manchester, and was chosen at random from nearly 2,000 entries.
