Up Up and Away

Aerobility – a charity which gives disabled people the opportunity to fly a plane – has been gifted a new aircraft which will allow it to offer this unique opportunity to even more disabled people.

The new plane, donated to Aerobility through The Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust, is capable of carrying larger wheelchairs, power-chairs and even includes a hoist, making the experience of flying more accessible than ever before.

Accessible

Founded in 1993, Aerobility has a mixed fleet of light aircraft, all of which are wheelchair accessible vehicles, capable of carrying people with various disabilities.  Through a mixture of fundraising initiatives and careful management strategies, the charity enables disabled people to fly for a fraction of the commercial rate.

Last year Aerobility gave trial flights to over 350 disabled people with various disabilities, from spinal injury, amputation and MS through to learning and sensory disabilities.  The charity also provides advice, information and advocacy for disabled people who wish to fly and is the representative body for disabled aviation within the UK.
