Sheffield to Host ParalympicsGB Sports Fest

The British Paralympic Association (BPA) has announced that Sheffield will play host to the second annual ParalympicsGB Sports Fest, taking place on 26th and 27th April.

The announcement comes following the success of the inaugural event, held in December last year, which was attended by over 1000 people.  Sports Fest is a free two day multi sport event designed to give people with disabilities the chance to try out a variety of Paralympic sports.

Disability Sport Tasters

The event offers a range of activities including come-and-try sessions for the majority of summer and winter Paralympic sports.  Sports Fest also offers a unique opportunity to meet current and former Paralympic medallists and a series of seminars held providing more information on all aspects of disability sport.

Tim Hollingsworth, Chief Executive of the BPA, commented: “We were absolutely delighted with the response we received from the first Sports Fest event last year.  We had so many people through the door and we received such fantastic feedback from attendees that we were determined to hold another event early in 2013.

“It’s important we visit different areas of the country to provide an opportunity for as many disabled people as possible to attend, so we’re pleased that we will be coming to Sheffield.”
