A Triumph at RAF Cosford: Midlands Mobility Day 2023

We recently hosted our final event of 2023, the Midlands Mobility Day, at The Royal Airforce Museum. The event was a resounding success with almost 300 attendees enjoying a free day out at the museum and viewing our range of wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs). Despite a rainy start, the sun broke through creating a vibrant atmosphere that mirrored the enthusiasm of all who attended!

Air Displays and Demonstrations

From meticulously restored vintage aircraft to cutting-edge modern technology, the museum exhibits provided a fascinating look at the evolution of aviation and explored the rich history of the Royal Air Force. Our visitors were treated to a diverse array of aircraft, engines, uniforms and interactive displays, all expertly curated to offer a glimpse into the bravery, innovation and dedication of those who have served in the RAF.

With our full display of new and used wheelchair accessible vehicles also on show, including the fully-electric eHorizon™ and our brand-new family-friendly Renault Autograph™, it was the perfect opportunity for visitors to try a variety of WAVs be

fore they found the best one to suit their needs. We also had our very knowledgeable Mobility Consultants on hand throughout the day to offer expert advice and answer the range of questions posed by our guests.

Charitable Connections

We’re delighted that our events also provide a platform for a range of local charities who support disabled people. Joining us on the day were PHAB and Jumbulance, two organisations dedicated to making travel and holidays more accessible and Disabled Motoring UK, who champion disabled parking campaigns in the UK and provide information and resources on topics like the Blue Badge Scheme.

One standout exhibitor was Kerry who was showcasing the revolutionary Thermomix mixer. This incredible appliance simplifies cooking, offering a wide range of functions that make meal preparation a breeze. Attendees were impressed by its versatility and its potential to enhance independence in the kitchen and even more so with wheelchair user Kerry’s genuine love for the product. One of our visitors remarked enthusiastically: “I can’t wait to rediscover the joy of cooking with this mixer!”.

Refueling with Free Refreshments

Nothing complements a day of exploration quite like a delicious cup of coffee and a slice of cake. The refreshments at Midlands Mobility Day were a hit, providing a welcome break for attendees to recharge and socialise.
