The Sheffield’s Electric Adventures with eHorizon™

Whether it’s for the environment, cost-efficiency or to get ahead of the curve, going electric is becoming ever more popular amongst drivers. So, we caught up with Simon Sheffield, to find out how he, his wife Beth and their son were getting on with their brand-new electric wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), Peugeot eHorizon™.

The family, from Salisbury, started looking for a WAV as Beth lives with multiple sclerosis (MS). Talking about the family’s changing needs, Simon shares:

“We needed something that we could all go in… something that my wife can go in in the wheelchair safely and comfortably.”

An Electric Home Demonstration

Having previously got on well with a standard electric car, the couple phoned us to arrange a free home demonstration of eHorizon ™.

Based on the Peugeot e-Rifter, eHorizon™ is our first fully electric WAV, bringing you optimum accessibility, driveability and sustainability.

“The home demonstration was brilliant and really useful….You don’t know until you try, really, with a different model. So yeah, it was vital. And quite exciting, actually”, remarked Simon.

e-Powered Holiday

When opting for an electric car, finding charging places is often an area of concern for drivers. However, while reminiscing about the family’s recent trip to France in their eHorizon™, Simon highlighted how easy they found charging the vehicle:

“France was a bit of an adventure, and really cool! It went really well. My son plotted over the charging stops so we kinda drove a couple of hours to the services on the M25 and charged there to 80% battery or something and then from there to the shuttle where we did another kind of 50 minutes of charging just to top up so we could be comfortable on the other side.”

Are you ready to go electric?

With a 199-mile range* and over 118,321 EV public chargepoints throughout the UK, travelling longer distances in the eHorizon™ is made possible. Moreover, if you’re leasing your first electric car on the Motability Scheme, and have off-street parking next to your home, then your home chargepoint and standard installation costs will be free of charge.

If you can’t get a chargepoint, you will gain access to over 9,000 public chargepoints with a subscription to the BP pulse network. Motability customers will also gain access to a Motability Go Charge card giving you access to over 80,000 public chargepoints.

eHorizon™ is available to buy, hire or lease on the Motability Scheme. Book your free home demonstration or call our friendly mobility advisors on the number above.
