Halloween is just around the corner and if you’re a wheelchair user looking for some spooktacular fun in the UK, you’re in for a treat! We’ve rounded up some wheelchair accessible Halloween activities that are sure to send shivers down your spine.
Scarefest at Alton Towers
With thrilling frights, family fun and rides in the dark, Scarefest at Alton Towers is our first pick. One of the UK’s most famous attractions, the park transforms and offers a hauntingly good time during Halloween. You can enjoy its spooky mazes, roller coasters and live shows until 3rd of November.
There’s parking for wheelchair accessible vehicles on site and accessible facilities such as changing places, a sensory space and wheelchair hire. Be sure to check the website for specific ride accessibility details before you go and complete your Ride Access Pass (RAP) request form online too for extra assistance when in the park.
Halloween Lakeside Trail
Open until 31st October, the Manchester Halloween lakeside trail is an enchanting journey for all ages and feels just like you’re stepping into the magic of a Halloween storybook! From witches on broomsticks flying in the shadows to spiders crawling out of lit up trees, there’s lots to see.
This fun outdoor trail lasts around an hour so be sure to wrap up warm! Various food and drink stalls can be found, as well as a toasty firepit for melting your marshmallows. Enjoy live singing under the tented hub area before or after the trail.
This experience is wheelchair accessible with accessible toilet facilities available on site. Staff will be able to direct you upon your arrival on the day.
GlasGlow
Head to Glasgow Botanic Gardens for a meander around its wheelchair accessible outdoor trail and immerse yourself in GlasGlow’s enchanting Halloween light display. With ten different ‘realms’ to explore, each is designed to give you a ‘trick’ or a ‘treat’ – so can be sure an exciting trip is in store!
Pamiloo mobile Changing Places is on site, complimentary tickets are available for carers and ASN sessions can be booked on selected days offering reduced capacity and offer a quieter walk around the gardens.
