Full Steam Ahead: Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles at Thursford

We had a fantastic time bringing our final Mobility Day of the year to a memorable close at Thursford Steam Engine Museum in Norfolk.

Wheelchair users, families and carers joined us for a fun-filled day, exploring our full range of wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs). Our friendly team were also on hand all day to answer questions and help customers find the perfect WAV to suit their needs, lifestyle and budget.

All Aboard for a Great Day Out

Set within the iconic Thursford Collection, the event gave Allied Mobility customers the chance to explore the world’s largest collection of steam engines and mechanical organs, alongside vintage fairground rides and fascinating displays offering a unique and memorable journey through Britain’s industrial and entertainment history.

Guests could also visit Thursford’s Adventure Play Fair and browse through the Thursford Shopping Village, including festive decorations, traditional sweets and seasonal treats.

A Chance to Win £1,000!

After trying out a range of WAVs, guests enjoyed some tea and cake in the sun as they filled in a prize draw card to be in with the chance of winning £1,000 later in the year. So be sure to grab a card and fill it in at our next event!

A white suggestion box labelled Allied Mobility is displayed on an outdoor table featuring pens, entry forms, and WIN £1,000 flyers highlighting the latest wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) offers. In the background, a garden with fencing and trees is visible.

Partners & Local Charities

Our Mobility Days are about more than showcasing WAVs. They also bring together disabled charities and mobility specialists who can offer products, practical advice and valuable support.

Our sister company, Mobility Solutions, joined us at Thursford to showcase their range of mobility products including wheelchairs, powerchair and mobility scooters.

We were also delighted to welcome representatives from a wide range of mobility partners and local charities. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success:

People engage at an indoor event focused on wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs), surrounded by mobility scooters, a chequered floor, and stalls showcasing WAV products. One man is seated in a wheelchair, while several other attendees—some engaged in conversations about different WAV options—stand or talk near a blue information stand.
