MiDAS Awards for Allied

Allied Vehicles’ full minibus sales team has successfully completed the MiDAS driver training programme. The initiative comes as part of Allied’s on-going commitment to product knowledge training for the specialist needs of the minibus sector.

MiDAS, the minibus driver awareness scheme, is organised by the Community Transport Association (CTA) and helps to improve minibus safety by working with organisations to enhance the driving and passenger awareness skills of drivers.

Gerry O’Donnell of the North Area Transport Association provided practical tuition and Brian Hill of Lothian Community Transport Services delivered the theoretical work prior to the examination.

“We were very pleased to be involved in the training of the Allied minibus team and hope that they found the course useful,” commented Gerry.

Lorna Miller, Allied Vehicles Minibus Sales Manager, said: “The specialised training associated with operating wheelchair accessible minibuses is particularly important to us because all of our vehicles can be adapted to provide access for people with disabilities.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve our understanding of customers’ needs and I am very much a believer that there’s no substitute for knowing how to do the job yourself.”
