Barry and Angela Major, from Doncaster, have just taken delivery of their third wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) from Allied Mobility, the UK’s favourite, Peugeot Rifter Horizon™.
Married for 36 years, the couple are parents to two incredible daughters, Laura and Rebecca. Laura, the eldest, is a wheelchair user.
Different WAV, Same Brilliant Service
Although they’ve been our customers for 15 years, Barry and Angela were still visited by their local Mobility Consultant, Des, for their free home demonstration. Des was on hand to make sure the mobility vehicle they had chosen was right for everyone by showing the family both the accessibility and standard features of Horizon™.
First-rate Accessibility with Allied Mobility WAVs
One of the main standout accessibility features for the Majors is the ease with which Laura can enter Horizon™, something Barry remembers struggling with before the family decided to change from a standard car to a WAV.
He explains: “We lower the ramp down and then use the electric winch to guide Laura into the vehicle.”
Angela adds with a smile: “She loves being in it, doesn’t she? Always smiling. Loves it when she’s going somewhere.”
The easy-to-use electric winch comes as standard with all Allied Mobility WAVs, along with privacy glass and air conditioning.
Barry and Angela opted for the RS model of Horizon™, which gives ample space for Laura and her wheelchair, alongside additional seating for sister Rebecca.
High Quality from Peugeot
Horizon™ is packed with brilliant driver safety benefits for Barry such as the 180-degree reversing colour camera and sensors. While the entire car is kept entertained with their choice of music that can be played from Apple CarPlay (Android Auto is also available) or the DAB radio.
This time around, Barry opted for his first automatic transmission and he is loving the smooth change from manual.

The positive impact of their WAV experience didn’t stop with the Majors. They eagerly shared their story with friends and neighbours.
Barry proudly mentions: “My next-door neighbour, he’s got one. We recommended it to him, and he loves it!”
