We recently had the pleasure of meeting Eric and Dawn, from Leicester, who were the ecstatic winners of our annual £1,000 prize draw competition.
The lovely couple live with their 28-year-old grandson, Oliver, who lives with a degenerative brain disease.
From Entering on a Whim to 2023 Winners
Eric, Dawn and Oliver had joined us at our Midlands Mobility Day at the Royal Airforce Museum in October, where they enjoyed a free day out and explored our full range of wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs). It was here they filled out a prize draw card to be in with a chance of winning £1,000 but thought no more of it.
A few months later we were delighted to give the family a call to let them know they were the lucky winners! Eric tells us that he and Dawn were “utterly shocked and over the moon!”.
Although the couple initially thought it might be a hoax, once we reassured them, they began planning how to make the most of their unexpected windfall.
Eric excitedly said: “The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, coming just in time for Christmas. We’ll be using the win to buy presents for the family and take them all out for a meal or two!”
A Wonderful End to 2023
