Disability Overcome in Racing Success

Despite coping with disability, it’s been a big year for 22 year old racing car driver Aaron Morgan. Throughout his successful 2013 season his main sponsor, Allied Mobility, has been keeping a keen eye on his progress.

Aaron competes in the Marangoni Production BMW Championship, where all of the entrants race in a BMW E30 3-Series car. As one of the youngest and the only disabled competitor on the grid, Aaron drives with the help of hand controls. This year saw him thundering around internationally renowned tracks from Brands Hatch to Silverstone.

Famous

Aaron tackled the famous Brands Hatch in May, where he scored his first point of the season after pulling away victorious from a three-way battle on the last corner.  Aaron continued his good luck throughout the season as he gradually crept up the qualifying positions to a fantastic 13th in his final race, at Castle Combe.

A delighted Aaron enthuses: “The 2013 championship has been a really good one for me. Finishing the season in 22nd position overall is a great improvement on last year.”

Disability Ambassador

Aaron’s boundless enthusiasm and positivity have also helped him take on the role of a young person’s disability ambassador.  Alongside his racing career, Aaron supports many disability events and exhibitions.

He’s had a busy year doing everything from speaking at the Disabled Motoring UK annual awards to acting as ambassador for the 30th Mobility Roadshow.  He also enjoyed meeting and greeting at Allied Mobility’s own Yorkshire Mobility Event, held in September at the National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield.

Aaron also played a key role at Get Going Live, held at Donnington Park.  This special event is aimed at helping introduce young and newly disabled people to the possibility of learning to drive themselves, with the use of hand controls and other car adapatations.

All in all it’s been a great year for Aaron and Allied Mobility is delighted to have been there to celebrate his success with him.
