Like many wheelchair users, Doreen Smith, from Weston Super Mare, finds transferring to a standard car seat a struggle.  In the search for an alternative way to travel, Doreen discovered Allied Mobility’s range of mobility cars.  And Allied’s Peugeot Horizon proved the perfect solution, allowing Doreen to travel comfortably in her wheelchair.

Doreen explains: “Getting in and out of my standard car was becoming very difficult so I’m really happy with my new Horizon.  Now I enjoy travelling because it’s quick and easy, I just stay in my wheelchair and off we go!”

Peugeot Partner Wheelchair Conversion

The Peugeot Horizon, available exclusively from Allied Mobility, is specially adapted for wheelchair access.  Featuring a lightweight one-piece folding ramp and offering the choice of a remote-operated electric winch system, moving in and out of the car is hassle free.

“The electric winch is perfect for me,” explains Doreen.  “My grandson, who drives the car, finds the winch very easy to use and I always feel secure.”

Safety is never a worry as the Horizon comes with high quality, four-point wheelchair restraints and a wheelchair passenger lap and diagonal seatbelt, giving complete peace of mind for all passengers.

The Horizon mobility car accommodates a variety of wheelchair sizes from small wheelchairs to electric scooters.  Doreen adds: “I have an electric wheelchair that I use everyday as well as a standard wheelchair that I like to travel in, which is extra comfy.  The Horizon allows me to travel in both, its wonderful having the choice.”

Hassle Free Mobility

“My grandson took me on a trip to Glastonbury and the journey was a breeze!  I lived in Glastonbury when I was younger so it was lovely to go back and visit my old friends.  I had a wonderful time going out to the theatre and visiting the beautiful Chalice Well Gardens.  The Horizon really has given me a great sense of freedom, it’s fantastic.”

“Now every week I go and visit my friends for Sunday lunch. It’s great to catch up and spend some time together, which I couldn’t do before.  I’m really enjoying getting out and about more and I’m planning a Christmas shopping trip with my daughter, Katrina, very soon!”

Doreen is delighted with the service she received from Allied Mobility.  She explains “After I called Allied they arranged a free home demonstration and within just a few days of contacting them I got to see the mobility car first hand and try it out.  Once I travelled in the Horizon I knew it was the one for me.  In no time at all I had one of my very own and I haven’t looked back since.”
