On the Road Again

It’s been a busy few months for Allied Mobility out on the road!  We’ve been touring around the UK showing our market-leading wheelchair accessible vehicles to people up and down the country.

One Big Day in Somerset

Our Peugeot Horizon made an appearance at Motability’s One Big Day at the Bath & West Showground, near Shepton Mallet, in Somerset. The One Big Day events combine a huge array of mobility cars, scooters, adaptations and wheelchair accessible vehicles with everything you need to know about Motability.  With loads of things going on under one roof, there’s always plenty happening to keep everyone entertained.

Our hugely popular Peugeot Horizon, based on the Peugeot Partner Tepee, drew plenty of attention with its unique FlatFold™ ramp and lowered floor. Attendees were eager to find out more about the UK’s best selling wheelchair accessible vehicle, including additional features like an electric assist winch that can be added to the vehicle at no extra cost.

Kidz South

Allied Mobility was also thrilled to support Kidz South for another year.  A specialist exhibition aimed at children with disabilities and their families and carers, this event was held at the Rivermead Leisure Complex, in Reading, with a fantastic turn out from more than 120 suppliers.

Among the huge range of mobility products on display was everything from assistive equipment to housing adaptations and daily living aids.  Added to this were Allied’s popular Peugeot Horizon and Peugeot Independence wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Many visitors to the show were keen to learn more about our spacious Peugeot Independence. With room for up to six seated passengers, together with driver and wheelchair user, the Independence is ideal for large families or group outings and has multiple layout choices available, making it a fantastically flexible option.

With a host of informative and educational seminars available free of charge to everyone, the event proved to be not only a brilliant showcase for a huge range of disability products but a great source of information and support for those attending. The Kidz team had a fantastic area of the exhibition called the Funding Point which returned for another year with a comprehensive selection of organisations providing ever important information on various support opportunities.

Mobility Roadshow

The Mobility Roadshow is the UK’s largest mobility event.  Allied Mobility was excited to be at the International Centre in Telford, Shropshire, with six of our most popular wheelchair accessible vehicles on display and available for test drive.

The opportunity to test drive vehicles at the Roadshow is a great feature, allowing attendees to experience the accessible features of our vehicles at first hand.  It was also the first chance for people to see two great new mobility vehicles – Peugeot Spirit and Peugeot Impulse.

Spirit is a large WAV offering bags of space for essential personal equipment, extra-large wheelchairs or large families and small groups.  Impulse is our exciting new drive-from-wheelchair and up-front passenger car.  With a fantastic automatic tailgate and ramp that can be controlled remotely from both in and outside the vehicle, new Impulse truly lives up to its name.

There were lots of exciting things happening around us at this year’s Roadshow, including an accessible climbing wall and an activity zone with loads of great things to do.  Our very own Aaron Morgan was also there with his impressive BMW racing car.  Some lucky attendees even got to have a shot in the drivers seat, as well as enjoying Aaron’s irrepresible enthusiasm!

An indoor mobility test track meant people in attendance were also able to test drive scooters and powerchairs and really get to try before they buy – part of what makes the Mobility Roadshow a fantastic success, year after year.
