Learn About Our Ford WAVs for Sale…
What is the best Ford Passenger WAV?
Allied Mobility has a wide range of Ford WAVs for sale. From everyday journeys to trips further afield, your expert Mobility Consultant will help you decide on the best vehicle for you to ensure your safety, comfort and travelling requirements are met.
If you’re looking for a small or medium-sized Ford wheelchair access car, you should consider Ford Courier or Ford Freedom.
For those who have been thinking of, or have already made the switch to electric, Ford eValeso is the electric Ford WAV for you!
Maybe extra space and additional passenger seats is your main requirement, if so then Ford Independence.
Can I drive a Ford WAV?
Allied Mobility has two types of WAVs where you can drive a Ford WAV. You can either drive directly from your powerchair in Ford Avance or transfer from your wheelchair or powerchair to a specialised six-way seat in a Ford Dream or our newly released Ford Connect Internal Transfer.
Is there an option to travel as an upfront passenger in a Ford WAV?
If you prefer to travel beside the driver in your wheelchair, then our side entry Ford Connect Upfront Passenger could be the choice for you!
Can I get a Ford wheelchair accessible vehicle through the Motability Scheme?
Yes, you can. If you’re in receipt of a qualifying mobility allowance which includes Higher (also referred to as Enhanced) rate mobility part of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Higher rate mobility part of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Enhanced rate mobility part of Adult Disability Payment (Scotland), Higher rate mobility component of Child Disability Payment (Scotland), War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP), you can lease a brand new Ford WAV on the Motability Scheme. Alternatively, you might prefer to choose a nearly new Ford wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Which Ford WAV is suitable for larger wheelchairs and powerchairs?
If you have a larger wheelchair or powerchair, the best Ford WAV for you would be the Ford Independence™. With its wider ramp and internal channel, you can enter the vehicle safely and smoothly without worrying about the size of your wheelchair or powerchair. It also has generous entry and travelling headroom which is ideal if you’re a taller wheelchair user.
Can I arrange a free home demonstration of a Ford WAV?
You can book a free home demonstration of any Ford wheelchair accessible vehicle from Allied Mobility so that you’re confident it’s the right accessible car for your needs. You’ll be visited at your home, or preferred location, where you’ll get the chance to enter and exit the vehicle in your wheelchair, see how the certified safety restraints secure your chair for travelling and how the electric-assist winch (included as standard on rear entry Ford passenger WAVs) can help support with heavier powerchairs.
Your Mobility Consultant will answer any questions you have about your Ford WAV and the process of ordering, either via the Motability Scheme or private purchase.
Is Allied Mobility an approved Ford WAV converter?
