ASDA Support for Motability

| Uncategorized

The first supermarket to fine drivers for parking in disabled and parent and child parking bays has donated over £115,000 to the Motability Cars Scheme since the fines were introduced in 2008.

Asda introduced the fines to ensure only people who really needed to use the spaces did so.  Priority parking spaces are reserved for disabled customers with a blue badge in their cars and for parents travelling with a child under 12.

All profits made from the £60 fines are donated to baby charity Tommy’s and the Motability Cars Scheme for the disabled.

Motability Assistance

Motability have used the money to help many disabled people become more independently mobile.

Philip, who received a charitable grant from Motability to help pay for an adaptation to his car, commented: “It’s great to know Asda are supporting their disabled customers and at the same time helping Motability so that other disabled people can get the help they need.”
