The Department of the Environment (DOE) in Northern Ireland is carrying out a review of accessible taxi services to find out if any improvements could be made.
The DOE is looking for people who have a disability to submit their views and experiences of using accessible taxi services and whether they meet the needs of users, including whether there is sufficient wheelchair accessible vehicles available. The DOE is asking for affected people who currently use taxis, disabled people who experience difficulties when trying to use taxis and people who choose not to use taxis because of their disability to complete a survey.
The cab survey will look at how and when people with disabilities use taxis, the difficulties they encounter and also collate people’s suggestions on how taxis could be made more accessible.
Anyone who wishes to take part in the survey can do so by calling 01159 886905 or by emailing etaylor@itpworld.net.
