Wheelchair Taxi Hotline Launched

A special hotline has been launched in Worthing for wheelchair users who want to order a wheelchair accessible taxi that suits their access requirements.

The hotline was set up jointly by Worthing Taxi Association and Worthing Borough Council in response to complaints that there are an insufficient number of wheelchair accessible taxis available to disabled residents.

Despite an increase in the number of wheelchair accessible taxis licensed by the Council, including Allied Vehicle’s own Peugeot E7 taxi, wheelchair users were still finding it difficult at times to get an accessible cab.  Worthing Taxi Association decided the only way to tackle the problem was through the introduction of the special hotline.  This means that wheelchair users who require a fully wheelchair accessible taxi are guaranteed to get one in good time.

The Worthing wheelchair taxi hotline number is 01903 230 302.  It’s staffed from 7am to midnight, seven days a week.
