Every year Allied Mobility customers have the opportunity to enter our annual prize draw competition at Allied Mobility Days and Motability events across the country. This year, we decided to double the prize winners and give away £1,000 to two lucky customers! Read on to find out who they are and how they plan to spend their winnings.
Dave
Dave and his wife Christine have lived in Wirral for nearly 40 years. The pair worked together as Research Scientists until 2018 when Dave had a series of strokes which resulted in him needing to use a wheelchair and a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) to get around.
Having joined us at our North West Mobility Day at the Concorde Conference Centre in Manchester Airport, Christine tells us that along with winning £1,000 they also purchased a Quickie Q300m from our Mobility Solution stand:
“It was such a productive event! It was great to see all the wheelchair accessible vehicles and stalls.”
Thinking about how they are going to spend their winnings, Dave and Christine tell us that they had bought a new Peugeot Horizon™️ from us in 2019 and although they are very happy with it, they would like to put some of their winnings towards the advanced payment of a new WAV and also to buy some Christmas presents!
Debbie
Debbie and her husband Adrian, who is also her carer and advocate, have six children and two grandsons. Before becoming seriously ill, Debbie was a nurse, and Adrian was a manager of his own entertainment business.
The couple learned about Allied Mobility on the Motability website. Adrian tells us after contacting Allied, getting their new WAV was a “really simple process” largely due to the free home demonstration which helped them decide that Ford Independence was the WAV for them.
Reflecting on delivery day, Adrian tells us,
“The vehicle was delivered to the door by a very cheery chap who went through everything again with us to make sure that we still remembered everything from the home demonstration.”
Having entered the competition at our South Mobility Day at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Adrian shares how they reacted when they found out they won:
“I actually feel quite giddy as we never win anything more than a half-eaten packet of fluffy toffees in a local raffle, so when Rasha contacted us saying we had won £1,000 we couldn’t believe it. Well, we didn’t believe it at first to be honest.”
Debbie adds, “It couldn’t have come at a better time as I have been diagnosed with heart failure, so we plan to use the money to make some memories with the children and grandchildren.”
A Wonderful End to 2024
It’s been a brilliant 2024 for Allied Mobility and we’ve loved having the chance to meet customers old and new at the numerous events we attended throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming you to our 2025 events where you can also be in with a chance of winning £1,000!
