A Quick Look at How a WAV is Made
We have been converting WAVs for more than thirty years, so you can be assured that every Allied Mobility WAV is made for you with precision, care and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety. Take a look at how our wheelchair access cars come to be!
Step 1: Design the WAV
Our expert design engineering team get us started by producing a conversion concept.
Step 2: Replace the Interior
The first thing our production team do is strip out the interior of the base model, removing the original vehicle floor so we can fit our own specially manufactured lowered floor and a lightweight wheelchair access ramp.
Step 3: Install the WAV’s Safety Features
Our expert WAV production team then begin installing the wheelchair user’s seat belt and the electric-assist winch, before moving on to fitting the wheelchair restraints along with new sturdy, slip-resistant flooring.
Step 4: Safety Inspection Time!
Once each and every WAV is built, they then undergo a 46-point quality check before making their way to you!
